Worth Watching

Spring Break

A busy weekend has just passed and I didn't get to blog as I would have liked so here's a quick recap.

Christopher & Jessica pulled in late Thursday after driving back from the Keys. Grandad had arranged for them to take a plane ride over the Keys and they had some great pictures! The pilot was rather unsettling with his strange tales and personal stories, but the views were worth it!

We ate tacos and played around with the karaoke machine. Friday, they went to Blizzard Beach and then we cooked out hamburgers for supper. After that, Christopher pulled out the old home videos and we watched those (and laughed hysterically) until very late.

Saturday, Elizabeth was supposed to have a soccer game, but the other team was a "no show". Luckily, ELizabeth was able to call us before we left. Christopher & Jessice went shopping. For supper, Rick made Shrimp Bog and boiled up some crab legs. The temperature was perfect, so we ate outside. Saturday night we got into Christopher's birthday cake a little bit early and BEFORE singing Happy Birthday. We played two rounds of "Nickel, Nickel" before going to bed.

Sunday we celebrated Christopher's 20th birthday one day early, and he blew out candles on a cake that was already half eaten! (probably a first for me!) We gave him some of his favorite things to munch on, namely a huge bag of pistachio's and a large supply of beef jerkey. He also got a small version of one of those big, round, orange, Gatorade coolers. He can use that when playing sports or on the car tour.

Since we decided just to give him money instead of buying stuff he might not need or want, we divided the total amount into four checks; one was attached to the pistachio's, one was rolled up into the hanging hole of the jerkey bag (he didn't even see it!), one was inside the cooler, and the last one was tricky. When he was hugging me, I managed to slip the last check into his shorts pocket (he had no clue), then he had to asked yes/no questions to find it...took awhile for him to figure it out, but it was fun!

We ended up playing another round of "nickel, nickel" before they left mid-afternoon to go back to Tampa.

It was soooo great having them around for a few days!
