Worth Watching

Well...my first full day without my sweet boy.

Hmmm...scratch that. I guess he is a man now, considering he's twenty years old.

It was great having him home all summer, but college beckons. This time he will be gone...for good? Yeah, I know he will be back for holidays and visits here and there, but he's going to take summer classes next summer so he won't be back in May to spend the summer with us. And then his senior year starts back up in fall so he will be gone all of THAT school year. The slow process of letting go continues.

My mood isn't helped by the fact that I am a certified spaz. Yesterday I was walking out of the laundry room into the garage, where I tripped, twisted my ankle and fell down! Keep in mind that it is ONE step down....not a difficult thing...but somehow I couldn't manage that one step without falling!

Elizabeth propped up my leg and did ice on for 20 minutes then off for twenty minutes til I went to bed. It's better today but not good enough to try out my new exercise regime. (I broke down and bought "The Firm" system.) I was able to walk good enough to go to the mall with Elizabeth after school today to look for a homecoming dress. We actually found two, which is good since she is going to homecoming at two different schools! (She was going to wear the some dress to both, but one was marked down to $20, so I relented and got that one and the second one that was regular priced ($69.00). We found the perfect shoes to match and THEY were marked down to $20, too!
So what I thought was going to be an afternoon of schlumping around the mall on my aching foot spending too much money, turned out to be about an hour in the first store we went into! And one of the dresses can double for her IB induction ceremony that is coming up, so we did good all the way around!

I think I'll end on a high note!
