It was total excitement in our house when Elizabeth found out that she has qualified for the Florida Bright Futures academic scholarship at the 100% level! There is a literal meaning for the phrase "jump for joy"!So what does it mean to receive this award? The scholarship pays 100% of her tuition (FL schools only), all school fees, up to $300 in lab fees each semester, plus $300 per semester for books or other college-related expenses.
We also found out in her acceptance letter from USF that if she attends that school they will give her their Director's Scholarship Award which is an additional $6000 on top of the Bright Future's scholarship. That will help with room and board!
She has applied to several other schools which she is still waiting to hear from, but it will be hard to top a free education PLUS additional funds. :)
